With upronts less than a month away, I will use my television expertise (and imaginary crystal ball) to predict what the new network schedules will look like. Tonight:
The CW:
Thursday
8:00PM: The Vampire Diaries
9:00PM: The Secret Circle
Analysis: The first breakout hit to come out of The CW since 90210, Diaries will remain in its slot for its third season. Circle, another young-adult-novel-adapation by Diaries show-runner Kevin Williamson will most likely follow the drama, and hopefully duplicate the success that Diaries has had.
Friday
8:00PM: Supernatural
9:00PM: Nikita
Analysis: Supernatural and Smallville single handedly saved the net on Fridays, improving their respective time-slots by double digits, and outrating most other dramas on the net. With Smallville ending, Supernatural will slide back to 8PM, leading into the sophomore run of Nikita, the only surviving CW freshman.
Midseason
The only guaranteed Midseason entry will be a second cycle of ANTM, and, as is customary, a really awful (see: low-rated) reality premiere.
